Topics We Cover
We publish guides that belong squarely within our established topical areas. Submissions outside these categories will not be considered.
Automotive
Wiring diagrams, fuse boxes, engine parts, suspension, ignition systems
Electrical
Switch wiring, outlet wiring, circuit breakers, panel diagrams, relay guides
Plumbing
Toilet parts, water supply diagrams, sewer layouts, pump systems
HVAC
Thermostat wiring, AC unit diagrams, heat exchanger layouts, boiler piping
Parts Diagrams

The strongest submissions are highly specific: “2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee fuse box diagram explained” or “Ceiling fan 3-way switch wiring: step-by-step with diagrams” — not broad overviews of a topic category.
What We Look For in a Great Guide
Our readers come to DiagramInfo with a specific problem to solve — a broken circuit to diagnose, a part to identify, a wiring job to complete. The best guides we publish share these qualities:
- Specific and actionable — covers one clearly-defined topic, not a vague overview
- Technically accurate — information verified against service manuals, manufacturer documentation, or verifiable technical sources
- Well-structured — clear headings, logical step-by-step flow, and labeled diagrams where appropriate
- Original content — not published elsewhere, not AI-generated without substantial human research and editing
- Written for the reader’s skill level — explains technical terms, doesn’t assume too much prior knowledge
- Minimum 1,500 words — enough depth to genuinely cover the topic; most published guides are 2,000–4,000 words
- Includes visual references — either your own diagrams, properly licensed images, or clear descriptions of what diagrams show
Content Requirements
Length & Format
- Minimum 1,500 words; ideal range is 2,000–4,000 words for diagram guides
- Submitted as a Google Doc, Word document, or plain HTML
- H2 and H3 headings used correctly throughout
- One clear H1 title (we may adjust for SEO)
- Short intro paragraph that states exactly what the guide covers
Sources & Accuracy
- Cite the sources you used (service manuals, manufacturer sites, technical publications)
- All specifications, wire colors, component numbers should be verifiable
- Include the specific year/make/model/engine when writing automotive guides
Images & Diagrams
- Images must be original, licensed under Creative Commons, or in the public domain
- Provide images at minimum 800px wide; 1200px+ preferred
- Include alt text descriptions for every image
- Do not embed images from other websites (hotlinking is not permitted)
Links
- You may include 1 dofollow link in your author bio
- Contextual links to other DiagramInfo guides are encouraged
- No links to direct competitors, affiliate programs, or commercial product pages within the body content
What We Don’t Accept
- Content published or pending publication anywhere else
- AI-generated articles without substantial original research, data, and editing
- Purely promotional content or thinly-veiled product advertisements
- Off-topic submissions (finance, health, lifestyle, travel, etc.)
- Guides that lack technical accuracy or cite no verifiable sources
- Content under 1,000 words
- Submissions that include multiple external commercial links
We use AI detection tools on all submissions. Purely AI-generated content with no original research or human expertise will be declined. We welcome AI-assisted writing where a human expert has verified all technical details and substantially edited the content — but the expertise and accuracy must be genuinely human-sourced.

Revisions (if needed)
If your guide needs edits, we’ll provide specific, actionable feedback. We work with contributors to improve guides — we don’t simply reject without explanation.
Publication & Your Author Bio
Once approved, your guide is published with your name, a short bio (up to 100 words), and one dofollow link to your website or LinkedIn profile.
Style & Formatting Guidelines
Voice and Tone
Write like you’re explaining to a knowledgeable friend — technically accurate but not unnecessarily jargon-heavy. Our readers range from first-time DIYers to professional technicians, so strike a balance: don’t talk down, but do explain terms when you introduce them.
Structure
Every guide should have: a clear intro stating exactly what the guide covers and who it’s for, a logical sequence of headings, and a practical conclusion or summary. Step-by-step sections should be numbered. Warning callouts for safety-critical steps are expected in electrical and wiring guides.
Specificity Over Breadth
A guide titled “Ford F-150 Fuse Box Diagram (2015–2020): Location, Layout & Fuse Ratings” will always outperform “Ford Fuse Box Overview.” Be as specific as possible. Include year ranges, model variants, engine types where relevant — readers are searching for exactly their situation.
